SpringFest 2017
One of the things I like about Clarkson Union Board (CUB) is that we hold elections in the winter, just before the end of the fall semester. This gives freshmen a chance to become involved after just one semester, and it gives graduating seniors an entire semester to transfer all of their knowledge to the new executive board members. As part of that, the outgoing President is in charge of coordinating SpringFest while the incoming President is listed as Second in Command. That was my position in 2017, after being elected President effective in January 2017. While the second does tend to be an “odd jobs” position, I also got copied in on all of the other conversations going on so I had a chance to see what I was getting myself into before I had to do it all myself.
Again, that doesn’t mean I get to sit back and watch everyone else do all the hard work on the day of the show. I like making sure I get a chance to help out at least a little, if for no other reason than being able to point at something and say “I did that.” It’s a great feeling, and I think it’s very different than watching the efforts of a bunch of emails come to life.
Our performers for SpringFest 2017 were Ra Ra Riot and PVRIS, opened by TWiiNS.
